The Toyota Tundra is the first North American full-size pickup to be built by a Japanese manufacturer.

The second generation, 2007 onwards, sees a larger Tundra with many enhancements over the earlier first generation. Enhancements include towing capacity of up to 4.5T, payload capacity of over 910 kg, and a new 5.7L V8 engine mated to a new 6-speed automatic transmission.

The second generation Tundra is also better suited for construction workers and has extra large door handles, deck rail system, integrated tow hitch, and head restraints that can fit a worker with a hardhat. A refreshed 2014 model Tundra sees a larger grille, more enhanced guards front and rear, a redesigned tailgate and taillights, as well as a completely redesigned interior. The hood line is raised providing a more chiseled look and the tailgate includes a spoiler. The interior features a standard 3.5 inch information screen, bluetooth connectivity, and reverse camera. The interior also has new seats, new gauges, new controls, updated ergonomics, and a redesigned dashboard with improved materials and metal-look surfaces. Toyota also retuned the suspension with new damping rates to improve the ride quality over the previous models.
